On 23 September 2023, the Langen Foundation – designed by star architect Tadao Andō – will be the venue of an auction of unique contemporary artworks including by Julian Charrière, Katharina Grosse, Leiko Ikemura, Philippe Parreno, Julian Rosefeldt and Gerhard Richter. Half of the proceeds of the auction will go towards art projects supported by LEAP, the other half to the artists themselves.

All the artists and gallery owners we asked to participate were clear from the start that their generosity in making works available for auction would strengthen our cultural landscape. People who understand and support this basic philanthropic idea are needed – now more than ever – since public institutions are not as well funded as they once were.

The works we are able to bring together for this good cause are of great relevance and quality. We would like to thank all the participants and stakeholders involved for their generous support. An auction catalogue will be available online and in print at the end of August.

In 2023, LEAP is once again organising the charity auction in collaboration with Phillips, who are generously providing an auctioneer for the event.
